Ashrise Therapy
At Ashrise Therapy, I am committed to guiding you through a transformative journey of healing and self-discovery. This is just a small chapter in the grand story you are creating. If you place your trust in me, I will help you rise beyond the ashes and step into the life you are meant to build.
Meet Andrew
Hi, I'm Andrew, therapist and founder of Ashrise Therapy. From a young age, I found myself in the role of a listener, a peacekeeper among my four siblings, always offering support to friends who struggled. That early sense of understanding grew into a deep passion for helping others navigate their healing.
I bring a calm presence to therapy, but I also believe in accountability to help clients challenge the patterns that hold them back. My approach is rooted in connecting the past to the present. We remember our past for a reason, yet we often try to outrun it. When someone says, “I’m triggered,” the instinct is to step away, to give them space. But real healing happens when we lean into that pain instead of avoiding it. I help clients explore the emotions behind their triggers, so they can tune into their bodies and respond with awareness rather than fear. Our emotions aren’t obstacles, they’re signals guiding us toward growth.
Outside of therapy, I’m a dedicated husband and father of four. My family is my anchor, and I cherish the moments we share, whether it's hiking, heading to the pool, or taking much-needed breaks to reset. I also appreciate the comforts of home, enjoying movies, video games, and audiobooks when it’s time to unwind. Balancing work and family is important to me, ensuring that I bring my best self to both.
If you're ready to step into healing, I’d be honored to walk that journey with you.
My Therapeutic Approach
At Ashrise Therapy, I guide clients to face their trauma with a new perspective. Trauma doesn’t exist in isolation. It settles into different aspects of life, shaping beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. Imagine holding a handful of glitter and blowing it off your hand. It doesn’t just disappear, it clings to everything, showing up in places you never expected! It can be frustrating trying to get rid of it all.
Therapy helps you recognize where trauma has stuck, how it has shaped your beliefs, and how to challenge those beliefs by getting in tune with your emotions. Through this process, you don’t just erase the past, you redefine it. Installing a new belief system that empowers you to move forward.
My goal as your therapist is to help you explore the root of your pain and determine the best path for healing and growth. Together, we will identify the therapy approach that best fits your needs. As a certified EMDR therapist, I can provide that option if it aligns with your goals, or we can explore other modalities that support your journey.
This will be a client-centered approach, meaning you have the ultimate say in how therapy unfolds. I will be your guide, ensuring the proper implementation of those efforts while respecting your autonomy. If, at any point, this approach doesn’t feel right for you, we will explore other options to ensure you receive the best possible care. Your well-being is my top priority, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure you are getting the guidance you need, even if that means finding the right therapist beyond me.
My Professional Journey
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Northern Arizona University and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Utah. My clinical experience includes:
Deescalating intense emotions while working in a behavioral hospital.
Navigating crises as a CPS worker, I witnessed the deep impact of trauma while supporting families in distress, and seeing firsthand how survival shapes beliefs. That experience sharpened my ability to help clients process their own pain, challenge limiting patterns, and build resilience. Now, as a therapist, I guide individuals and couples in transforming their past wounds into growth, healing, and renewed strength.
Understanding the depth of personal struggles through addiction recovery work.
Strengthening relationships by working in a private practice focused on couples therapy.
My professional journey continues as I meet clients from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Every person I work with teaches me something new, reinforcing my belief that growth is a lifelong process. I understand what it’s like to sit on the other side of therapy. We are no better than one another, and the struggles we face are just as complex as those you experience.
As we work together, I may not always get it right, but through those moments, I’ll learn and refine my approach. Therapy isn’t about my worth as a clinician; it’s about finding the right way to meet the unique needs of the person sitting in front of me. I am committed to providing evidence-based therapy while tailoring my methods to best fit your style, ensuring our work feels meaningful and effective.
If you choose to begin your journey here, know that I will never judge your struggles or mistakes. We are all navigating what success looks like and that understanding takes a lifetime to master.
